RIP John Updike
The NYTimes just reported that John Updike died at the age of 76...from lung cancer. This doesn't sadden me quite as much as Kurt Vonnegut (I always wanted to meet him, shame) but I did enjoy some of Updike's work including the first Rabbit book, The Witches of Eastwick, and Gertrude and Claudius.
