Teaser Tuesdays: Operation Shylock

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

- Grab your current read

- Open to a random page

- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page and BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I got Phillip Roth's Operation Shylock because a) I want to read more Roth and b) my friend Kat made an awesome display of novels using Shakespeare themes/titles as plots (including the children's book Romeow and Drooliet, but I digress).

I am the Phillip Roth who rushes into the room with his Minolta and gets his pictures before they know what's happened. Nobody gives you awards for this, but I was never ashamed, I put in my years, and when I finally had the money, I opened my own agency.

~ Operation Shylock: A Confession, Phillip Roth, p 197

I was going to pick a Teaser from Portnoy's Complaint but I didn't want to creep everyone out *wink, wink*
